I am an artist with a profound fascination for masks and masking. Sparked by an interest in human behavior and communication through facial expressions, emotions and body language. My aim is to redefine how we perceive and use the human body by proposing the term human matter—viewing the human body as a material with characteristics such as size, shape, color, texture, and flexibility. To create an open approach to understanding human matter beyond traditional definitions.
By challenging the limitations of materials, bodies, and techniques, I explore new possibilities through material experimentation. Masking and sculpting allow me to reshape human matter, stripping away recognizable human aspects and forming a new entity. I call this process "creaturization", the transition from human matter to being.
My research seeks to visualise a representation of a new being, offering alternative perspectives on human matter. This new representation of a being embodies a fragmented yet interconnected sense of self—various elements independently discovering their identity while collectively forming a whole. Just as human matter is intertwined with the mind and soul, these elements can exist separately but are fully realized when merged.
